Our unique powder formulation cuts typical CO₂ emissions compared to conventional liquid paints. We do this by replacing high-carbon petrochemical binder materials with plant proteins, gums and starches. Our plant ingredients are renewable. Compared with conventional liquid paint, our lightweight, dry powder concentrate has 73% less weight than paints that are shipped ready mixed.

A 2022 study by Environmental Action estimatedthat paints of all types are the largest source of microplastics entering oceans and waterways

In the case of conventional liquid decorating paints, microplastics are shed by careless paint waste disposal, brush and roller washing or when conventionally painted walls are sanded or cleaned, and the washing water poured down a sink or drain.

Paint Zero contains no synthetic polymers, so does NOT shed microplastic particles when it is washed or sanded. .

A 2026 study (BCF/B&Q) estimates that over 34 million of conventional liquid paint is wasted each year with only 2% recycled. According to the Royal Chemistry Society, 73% of UK households store unused paint well beyond its usable life.

PAINT ZERO is NOT classified as hazardous to aquatic lifeand and does not necessarily need to be taken to a hazardous waste disposal site.(see SDS and TDS). Which means that, where local regulations allow, leftovers can be mixed with absorbent sawdust or cat litter, wrapped in newspaper and disposed of with household waste. Our bio-cmpostable pouches are made from home compostable material, eliminating the need for single-use plastic tubs And because it’s a dry powder, any unused paint can be stored for up to 5 years, meaning no more half-empty tins of expired paint taking up valuable space.
